How to Cook Steak in an Air Fryer UK

There are basically two ways to cook steak in an air fryer, the boring, bland way, and the delicious, juicy way. The latter is what I’m going to teach you today. Plus, it’s quick and easy – perfect for busy weeknights!

We will be using some basic ingredients you can find in any UK shop for this air fryer steak recipe. Here’s how to cook delicious, juicy steak in an air fryer:

What You’ll Need:

  • 2 Cuts of Steak
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter (room temperature)
  • ½ Tablespoon Freshly Chopped Parsley
  • ½ Teaspoon Minced Garlic
  • ¼ Teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce

How to Cook Steak in an Air Fryer

  1. Preheat your air fryer at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes.
  2. While the air fryer is preheating, mix the butter, chopped parsley, minced garlic and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl.
  3. Season the steaks with salt and pepper then place them in the air fryer basket. Ensure there’s enough room between them for the hot air to circulate. If the steaks are too big, do them one at a time instead of stacking.
  4. Cook at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 6 minutes.
  5. After 6 minutes, open the fry basket and flip and rotate the steaks. This will allow the steaks to cook evenly.
  6. Replace the fry basket and cook for another 6 minutes. If you prefer them well done, cook for 8 minutes instead.
  7. Remove the fry basket and let the steaks sit for roughly 6 minutes. Again, this will help to promote even cooking.
  8. Add the garlic butter sauce and spread out with a spoon. Enjoy!

How long to cook steak in an air fryer?

It really depends on the thickness of your steak, but a good rule of thumb is to cook it for around 12 minutes. If you like your steak rare, you’ll want to cook it for around 8 minutes. If you prefer it more well-done, cook it for 14-16 minutes. You can always check the internal temperature of the steak with a meat thermometer to make sure it’s cooked to your liking.
