Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breasts or other boneless chicken, cut in nugget-sized pieces
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon fine table salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 4 tablespoon olive oil or neutral cooking oil
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer by running it at 330 °Ffor 5 minutes.
- Pour flour, salt and pepper in a resealable plastic bag and close it tightly. Shake to mix.½ cup all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon fine table salt, ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- Add the chicken pieces to the bag and seal it tightly. Shake the bag until the chicken is evenly coated with flour.1 lb chicken breasts
- Prepare your batter station. First, beat the eggs in a shallow bowl. Next to the eggs, place a shallow bowl or plate with the breadcrumbs. Mix in the olive oil with the breadcrumbs.4 eggs, 1 cup breadcrumbs, 4 tablespoon olive oil
- One at a time, dip each floured piece of chicken into the egg and then into the breadcrumb mixture until it is well-coated.
- Spread out the nuggets in the air fryer basket, making sure they are in a single layer and there is space for the air to circulate around them. Set the temperature to 330 °F and cook for 10 minutes.
- After 10 minutes, use tongs to turn the nuggets over. Then set the temperature to 390 °F and cook for another 5 minutes or until the nuggets are golden brown and cooked through.
